12:41 PM A day off for me. No school today, don't know why but i'm glad of the break. The simple joy of accompanying my mum to the market can only be done when i don't have to be in school at the crack of dawn. Nope..i don't like going to the market but i do enjoy the company of my mum when i have the time. I like telling her what's happening in my life and in turn listening to her boring days spent at home. Though it's not very interesting but at least i get to hear how my brothers are getting along since i'm forever too busy to spend time with them. I'm glad that she's always there when i return home with dinner waiting for me.i don't like to return to an empty house. It's too quiet for my liking. I like it when she cares so much to make a drink for me when it's a hot day. At least i know she cares. I guess one can only enjoy the company of one's mummy when one don't have much time to spend with her. The less time spent together makes one glad of the minute time one have together and there'll be less time spent squabbling.

Am going to town later on with a friend. What if we ran out of topics and our conversation ends in silence? Nevermind, we'll only be spending about an hour together because i have to go refereeing again tonight. Suddenly realised that refereeing is taking up a lot of my time with friends and family. There's no time for anything else.

Dreamt of someone last night. What a wierd dream...can really see the face clearly and yet when i awoke, the face faded into darkness again.

Hopefully i can get my bag later on. Haha..have to see where we're going. Haven't met up in 2 years if i remember correctly. So scary!!!!

3:47 PM Nothing much to blog about because my life has been pretty mundane nowadays. It's either relief teaching at a "premier" school in hougang area or refereeing in the evenings. Well, was refereeing at ITE East campus yesterday when i felt a sudden urge to play basketball competitively again. Thought of joining a team and guess what?! I found a team which my friend is in. Haha..anyone else interested to join too?

Speaking about relief teaching in that school..OMG..i have never encounted students like these before. Seriously wonder why they turn up in school when they are obviously not interested in their studies. Fighting, talking and playing are all they're interested in. Think they really need to think about what they want.

When i first step into class, i can immediately identify the bimbos, the trouble makers and the nice students. Haha it's so funny when you see the bimbos trimming their nails in class and flirting around hoping to find some sucker who'll finish their work for them. I'm just like someone who stepped into the cinema and the whole show is playing out in front of me while i just need to sit down and enjoy my popcorn. Too bad that i can't eat in class or i'll really enjoy my days in school. It's really funny to be in the teachers' perspective in class. I can finally understand the teachers' frustration when students are not cooperative in class. Can practically hear them going on hours after i reach home.
I hate standing in front of them to great them. Those minutes they take to stand up are the most unbearable moments. It's like "Good morning class....." Chairs moving, people standing up one by one, some still sitting down, some just came back from the toilet, some just decided that it's time to stand up, then "Good morning Miss Tan" I'll be rolling my eyes 10 thousand times till they uttered good morning to me. How can my morning be good after all this?!! Arg...imagine having to face this in all my classes? The best thing i heard, "Teacher..you know you look like Ezann Lee?" (I guess she was blind!!) The worst thing i heard, " It's her again??? Boring!"
(Like HELLO??!! I don't want to step into your class if i have a choice. Too bad i have 4 periods with you on that day. Your class is the worst class i ever had and so the feeling is mutual!) Thank god for recess breaks where i can go back to the staff room, have a nice cup of tea and read in air conditioned comfort till my next lesson.

1:44 PM I NEED A JOB!!!!


6:10 PM "Turning Othello" was brilliant! The cast was great especially Othello and Emilia. He was the tall,dark and muscular general depicted in the play and i think they found the perfect guy to play Othello. He has chest muscles that everyone would love to run their hands over and i suspect he has the washboard abs to go along with too. Haha!!!!! Hmm...lucky Desdemona, she was carried out by him at the end of the show! The girl who played Emilia was especially good when she confronted her husband during the end of the show. A great display of anger and hatred for the guy who caused the tragedy. Actually i felt that Desdemona was not bad too. The love for Othello was displayed on her face when she was asked if her duty remained with Brabantio or Othello and i think the way she portrayed love in its subtlety was fantastic. Love doesn't have to be loud, it can be subtle in the ways where she looked into Othello's eyes or the way she held onto his hands when they were together. Interesting, interesting! Literature is always so interesting especially when it's put to life and subjected to differing opinions. Another character that caught my eye was the girl who played the bimbotic classmate. She, in person was as different as her character can be. A total transformation from the quiet girl i know. Without the production, i wouldn't have known that she is capable of such a performance too. Have to thank Luke for inviting me to watch the show or i'll have miss it. What a pity that we were not able to participate in it. Why is it that there's no production during our years in JC? Life's unfair, but i'm glad that in some ways, we were not treated unfairly. At least, we were in the audience to watch and that is participation from the seniors. Good luck to all of them taking exams soon.
